I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel! After all the glitches and multiple trials, 3/4 of my experiment is now complete. Unfortunately, one last (hopefully) problem has emerged. After 3 full days of lovingly setting my blueberry concentrate stains, it was with great gusto that I set out to clean them off.
To my utter horror, the blueberry stains were completely washed off with water alone, and I hadn’t even added any cleaning agent! Needless to say, the stains came off effortlessly with the cleaning agents too! >< Further research revealed that blueberries contain anthocyanins, which are water-soluble natural pigments, hence accounting for their mysterious disappearance in water! Yay! At least I learnt something from this! :D
It was back to square 1 for me. I had to find another suitable dye stain for my experiment. I initially chose to use a juice dye stain as it had more real-life relevance and application. After all, it is more likely to spill a drink on one’s clothes than to spill ink, which we hardly use nowadays. However, looks like ink is my next best option now. Wish me luck!
